But even with that, Dirac will be much better in the time domain. The knowledge and effort needed to correct them with the mobile app is not going to be applicable to the majority of people using these products. That last part is just not true for the majority of users I've helped set up Audyssey properly. It's filtering logic has very little in common with the other suites of Audyssey in that regard. The room is dominant in the modal region and that's where XT32 does the most correcting. The target curves that come with the receiver sound worse than no EQ. Proves little other than some have acoustically better room than others. Your lack of accurate information is doing a bit as well.Īnd a lot of people also don't. It’s done a lot of harm to the mass opinions of room correction.

You can use an Android emulater on your laptop as some in the MultEQ mobile app thread are doing already.

They have individualized correction curves in the hardware that flatten the mic response.Īnd no desktop UI for editing target curve. Those bass corrections done on that potato get the author of the MiniDSP and REW tutorials on AVS AustinJerry to tell users to pull their external DSP in lieu of XT32 so must be an Idaho potato.įrom Herb at Cross Spectrum Labs regarding Audyysey mics👇: While I agree it's definitely the lesser of the 3 correction suites mentioned here the TC can be changed using the 20 dollar MultEQ app.įilter calculations are done on potato receiver Good luck.Īudyssey should be worse because of awful target curve However if money was no object and I was in a dedicated listening space I would pay for Dirac in a heartbeat but money is and I'm not so I muddle through life with XT32😉. Audyssey XT32 can be good and Dirac can be better both at the same time. The only issue I have is that Audyssey has to be a dumpster fire for the other 2 to be better and a disagree with that logic. These RC suites also arent frozen in time either meaning they can get individually better or worse depending on changes to their algorithms but thats been the widely accepted pecking order for a while now and I don't disagree with it.

Where it performs best is in bass correction and where its a little clunkier than the other 2 is in the software available to do individual tweaking to the setup. I use and like Audysey but I'm a realist as far as it's capabilities. Anthem ARC would be 2nd and Audyssey XT32 would be 3rd but with no computer access to run the software and a more mass produced audio mic. Dirac is the best of this bunch no doubt.
